    Basil Hydroponics Guide

    Growing Process

    1. Sowing: Plant basil seeds in rockwool or sponge cubes.
    2. Germination: Keep at 20-25°C, 80-90% humidity for 3-5 days.
    3. Transplanting: Transplant seedlings to hydroponic system when 2-4 true leaves appear.
    4. Growing period: Grow for about 4-6 weeks.
    5. Harvesting: Harvest the grown leaves periodically.

    Appropriate criteria by environmental factors

    1. Light

    - Light intensity: 10,000-30,000 lux
    - Photoperiod: 14-16 hours/day
    - Light source: LED or high-pressure sodium lamp

    2. Temperature

    - Daytime: 20-25°C
    - Nighttime: 15-20°C
    - Appropriate range: 18-30°C

    3. Humidity

    - Germination period: 80-90%
    - Growth period: 50-70%
    - Caution: Increased risk of disease occurrence when over-watered

    4. Water (nutrient solution)

    - EC (electrical conductivity): 1.0-1.5 mS/cm
    - pH: 5.5-6.5
    - Temperature: 18-22°C
    - Dissolved oxygen: 5-8 mg/L

    5. Nutrient solution management

    - Balanced nutrient solution centered on nitrogen (N) and potassium (K) Usage
    - Replace nutrient solution every 1-2 weeks
    - Check and adjust EC and pH daily

    6. Air circulation

    - Maintain air circulation with proper ventilation
    - CO2 concentration: 800-1,200 ppm (optional)

    Caution

    - Avoid both over-humidity and over-drying.
    - Basil prefers strong light, but avoid direct sunlight.
    - Leave a growing point when harvesting to help regeneration.
    - Check periodically for the occurrence of diseases and pests.
